A tip of the iceberg

Already 92% of companies are taking steps in terms of sustainability, although perception about ‘being engaged in sustainability’ is more positive than effective behaviour. More than half of researched companies recognizes benefits on the level of employees’ sense of ownership (57%), customer satisfaction (53%), and employee retention (51%). This begs the question: Why are ‘key business drivers’ like market share, growth and profit less recognized as drivers?

Additional to companies with sustainable ambitions, 22% has not included these efforts into a policy initiative. In other words, a broader approach is missing. What is holding these companies back? For example, knowledge about the EU’s new sustainability reporting requirements, known as CSRD, poses a challenge for many SME’s. Half of the companies questioned, are not familiar with CSRD.

Navigating to your sustainable business

To actually make the transition towards sustainable businesses on both ecological, social and economic levels, it is necessary to truly understand the current barriers and drivers towards sustainability. To offer viable insights into the matter, The Ecological Entrepreneur conducted a new 2023 research iteration with over 560 responding organisations, in collaboration with the University of Antwerp and Antwerp Management School.

The findings of this year's research will be documented in a report, and will be presented during this webinar.

This is your opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of seamlessly integrating sustainability in your daily operations. Whether you're a seasoned sustainability professional or just starting your sustainability journey, this webinar and research report will equip you with the knowledge and tools to make a positive impact.
